  1. I apologize I am having some formatting issues today with blogger... please excuse the extra spaces! :)

  2. I am loving the new site. It is so professional. It makes an "old" couponer want to start again. I am a bargain shopper but I have not been the best coupon shopper in the past few years. I have one question. I was looking at the information for the Cole's Bread. I have a 50cent coupon from the newspaper and a 5o cent internet coupon. How do I get the cost down to 39 cents?

  3. Hi Susan! Thanks for your comments about the site... we're glad you are finding it useful!

To answer your question about the Cole's bread...

It is on sale this week as a BOGO item. Normally $2.79

Remember, you're not really getting the second for free, if you just bought one it'd be 50% off, or $1.39 each. (it would probably ring up as $1.40 for the first and $1.39 for the second)

    Buy (1) Cole's Garlic Bread at $1.39
(BOGO price is 50% off of $2.79)
Use (1) 50 cent off coupon
(Publix will double, so you'll get $1 off)
    $1.39 - $1 = .39

Since you have two manufacturer's coupons, you will be able to get two of the Cole's Bread at the 39 cent price if you like. Hope that helps!

  4. I am still new at this and have a question about the Edy's Ice Cream:

If the regular price is $4.99, and it is BOGO and you use the $2 off coupon from Food Lion, then how does that make it $.50?

Same with the pasta--how does it become .32 each?

Thanks! And the site is awesome!

  5. Hi Stephanie-

First I would check with your local Publix to see if they consider Food Lion a competitor... some don't.

To answer your question about the BOGO sales... it's not really "buy one at regular price, get one free" - the items are just 50% off. You don't have to buy two items, you could just get one at 50% off.

So, for the ice cream - if you bought one it would be $2.50 (50% off of $4.99, I'm rounding up a cent)
minus the $2 compeitor coupon = 50 cents each

Let me check real quick on the pasta calculation to make sure we've got it right, and I'll let you know. Thanks for calling that to my attention!

  6. Ok, here's the pasta broken down:

    - Mueller Pasta is BOGO $1.29 (for 2 - if these weren't BOGO, they'd be $1.29/ea, but when you just purchase 1 of a BOGO item and don't get the second one, it's half price)
    - If you just buy one it's $.645, so $.65
    - If you used the $1/3 coupon, then you purchase 3 for $1.29 + .65 = $1.94
    - Minus $1 MFG = $.94
    - .94 divided by 3 is .31333333
    - So .31 or .32 cents a piece for 3

I hope this makes sense and helps!!

  7. Thanks, Amanda! I defer all the tricky math to you from now on... :)

  8. Thanks so much! Makes a lot of sense! I am going today to get it all! So excited!
