  1. what is a blinkie, and green peelie? Sorry i feel dumb asking, but i am new to the extreme coupon shopping ideal. By the way. LOVE your blog, glad i stumbled upon it! Oh, one more thing, can you use more than one coupon for the same thing? would that depend on the store policy?

  2. Hi Joan!

A "Blinkie" is an in-store dispenser located usually right beside an item that automatically dispenses coupons one at a time. These type of coupons are usually manufacturer (MFR) coupons.

A "Peelie" is a coupon you will find on an item (for example - "save $1 now!") that you can peel off and give to the cashier at checkout. This type of coupon is considered a manufacturer (MFR) coupon also.

"Green peelie" just refers to the color of the coupon on the item to help you search for it on the shelves.

Almost always, you are allowed one coupon of each "type" for each item.
A "store" coupon (SC) and "manufactuer" coupon(MFR) can be used together.

** if your Publix accepts competitor coupons, you are also allowed to use one competitor coupon (CC) for each item along with your SC and MFC.

The ideal formula for super cheap, free, or moneymakers on products is this:

    Item on Sale
    + Store Coupon (SC)
    + Manufacturer Coupon (MFR)
    + Competitor Coupon (CC)
(check with your local Publix about who they consider a competitor)

In our posts, we typically list several manufacturer coupons (MFR) available for that item, but remember you are only allowed one MFR per item.
